The pathway to the volunteer team / How do I become a volunteer?

 

Application

Unfortunately, applying as a volunteer for BOC 2009 GmbH for the 12th IAAF World Championships in Athletics berlin 2009™ is no longer possible.

However, our partner SCC Running Event GmbH is still looking for helping hands supporting the competitions in marathon and walking. More information can be found on the website of SCC, where you can also apply as a volunteer.

The Berlin Tourismus Marketing GmbH (BTM) is also looking for Volunteers for the 12th IAAF World Championships in Athletics berlin 2009™. The City-Volunteers will provide information about the Athletics WCH as well as the city Berlin to visitors at and around the KulturStadion at the Pariser Platz/Brandenburg Gate. The personal interview

All of the applications will be reviewed and a group of applicants will be selected for a personal interview. It is thus very important that you let us know of any changes to your contact information (telephone number and address) as they take place. If there are any changes, please send us a quick email with your first and last name and your application registration number with both your old and new contact information to volunteers@berlin2009.org.

Specialised Training Sessions

After each applicant has signed and returned the contract to the BOC 2009, he/she will receive an email in which the further steps are outlined.

The specialised training sessions prepare the volunteers for the unique circumstances of the World Championships. The volunteers will get to know the departmental leaders who will be in charge of them during the World Championships.

The exact dates of the training sessions have not yet been set. The first specialised training sessions are likely to begin in May 2009 and will take place until the World Championships get underway.
