Berlin’s Olympic Stadium as the traditional location for sport events will have a temporary counterpart from the realms of art: the KulturStadion^® at Pariser Platz. For the ten days of the sporting event, the Pariser Platz will be transformed into a place that will host the international guests of the championships, the many Berlin visitors and of course the Berlin residents: an international meeting place in the very heart of Berlin.

The Pariser Platz will be changed into a stadium of culture and movement: located in the center of the square the festival stage looks directly at the Brandenburg Gate. Opening up in In direction of the boulevard Unter den Linden the roofed and walkable Champions Lounge provides space for more „intimate“ formats like Talk or Championships-Cooking-Shows and a multi-functional exhibition platform.

True to the slogan „The Body – The Art of Movement“ the daily program will transfer the sportive spirit of the 12th IAAF World Championships in Athletics into a sophisticated event. Berlin as an eclectic and multi-cultural city offers the perfect premises for such an event. The varied program content is being developed together with Berlin cultural institutions and in cooperation with embassies of the participating nations and the IAAF / DLV.
