Coca-Cola Becomes a National Supplier of the 12th IAAF World Championships in Athletics berlin 2009™

The Coca-Cola Erfrischungsgetränke AG Berlin becomes a national supplier for the 12th IAAF World Championships in Athletics berlin 2009™. As a long-time partner of sports and of the IAAF, Coca-Cola will be supporting the World Championships with its sports drinks, Powerade sports, and its water, ViO, made by Apollinaris.

Manfred Hargarten, director of Coca-Cola Erfrischungsgetränke for the northeast region says: "Coca-Cola has been involved for years with athletic activities on a regional, national and international level and is one of the oldest supporter of sports. Coca-Cola has been supporting the Olympic Games since 1928 -- it is thus in our nature to join together with the World Championships for the core Olympic sport, athletics, to animate people to become more active in sports themselves.“

During the World Championships in Athletics, all visitors at the Olympiastadion Berlin and at the KulturStadion® at Pariser Platz will be able to enjoy free non-alcoholic drinks from Coca-Cola and Apollinaris.

In addition, the 3,500 volunteers for berlin 2009™ will be provided with ViO water and the participants in the "10 km Champions Run“ (August 22, 3:45 p.m., information available at www.championsrun.de) will be offered drinks from the Powerade sports brand.
