The small town of Kamen-Methler with about 13,000 inhabitants is suited in a scenic surrounding near Dortmund (20km) with direct transport connections to the famous Rhine Ruhr area, the mountain area of the Sauerland and the Muensterland area. The Sports Centre was home to the Spanish national football team during the FIFA World Cup in 2006.

The Hellmig Hospital in Kamen has a special surgery section and is located 6 km from the Sports Centre. In Kamen there are several physiotherapy practices which are available on request; in addition there is a special room especially equipped for physiotherapy in the Sports Centre.

The sports school restaurant offers breakfast, lunch and dinner. Special nutritious meals are available for athletes in the restaurant upon request. The chef de cuisine will do his best to accommodate your wishes.
In the evenings you can relax and have a drink in the sports bar next to the Sports Centre.

The sport school’s outdoor facilities offer several soccer fields for various team sport activities in addition to the athletics stadium. There is a multi-functional hall for different indoor sport activities, as well as an indoor swimming pool and sauna. If you choose to stay at the sports hotel, you can also use the large wellness area, which includes a sauna, steam bath, whirlpool and fitness room.
Due to the proximity to the Muensterland area, Kamen offers lots of nice cycling and running trails.

In Dortmund, you can relax in the Westfalen Park. There are several large sport venues like the Signal Iduna Park, where Borussia Dortmund hosts their football matches before more than 80,000 spectators. You can also have lunch in the 210m high revolving restaurant in the Florian Tower or visit the Dortmund Zoo, which has more than 1,500 domestic and exotic animals from all over the world.
